Another way I know I am holding a grievance is to notice who I don’t automatically extend love to. It doesn’t just pop out of me as I think of them or meet them.
But it can and it takes a conscious effort of will. In other words, a choice. The choice to see them as happy and content and to wish only that for them. The choice to not have my happiness and contentment be limited by my thoughts about them but instead to be set free by thoughts about them.
