Waking Up

You could say I was “ahead of my time”, when I went vegetarian, half way through medical school in the 70’s. On the surface things looked good for 30 years but then the problems began. The first signs of inflammation, blepharitis and rosacea, began when I was 51. Two years later I had testicular cancer. Two years after that I was diagnosed with high blood fats and I was told to eat less red meat and more whole grains so I could get my cholesterol down.

I ask you, what would you do if you had been vegetarian for 35 years, 10 of those wheat free vegan, and your diet was whole everything, 99% plant based, organic, and you were told to fix your problem by eating less of what you were already eating none of, and more of what you were already eating plenty of?

I started wondering, maybe I had it all wrong? I dove into reading everything I could. Practicing what made sense and refining as I went. In the past 11 years, since I began that journey in 2010, I’ve done a lot of reading, watching, listening and putting what I was learning into action. I continue to keep myself updated and always will. What I found shocked and angered me. It made me profoundly sad at the state of nutritional education that is current in the world. And putting what I learnt into practice made me profoundly hopeful. The changes I’ve seen in myself and others I’ve been working with has given me hope that we can reverse the worrying trends we see ripping through our communities and families and reclaim our health and wellbeing.

I believe we all need to learn what I discovered. It needs to be taught in our educational institutes. But it’s not.

Spreading The Light

This book and video course is my answer. It’s a complete summary of all the important elements that I’ve found to work and to not work. I’ve put it all into simple language, to save you years of toil and trouble trying to work it all out for yourself and to help you get on a truly workable path that will stand the test of time.

The Video Course

These ten modules and their supporting PDF’s give an insight, not only into Dr Rennies’ personal journey through diet and wellness, but into what the food industry has manipulated over years with indoctrinating us into following as the ‘correct diet’.

The modules work through systematically to broaden our knowledge with links and backed up information that can help us all. The charts are clear and support the spoken videos and I particularly prefer listening to someone who is a New Zealander – much easier on the ears than an American accent.

They keys of “what to eat” and ‘When to eat” are especially helpful in starting the journey to success on a ketogenic way of eating. And hints on what to look out for was an eye-opener!

Knowing that you are offered support and an opportunity for one on one tutoring is a personal service that you don’t find many other places! I will recommend anyone starting out on this journey to health and healing to consider the ‘course’ … much preferable (in my mind) to a book. And remember to “let food be your medicine”!
