What do you mean that I see only the past?  That can be a hard one to get.  I can hear the scientist saying: But I am looking at the present.  And the reply Well technically you are seeing something that happened a few nanoseconds ago.  So….maybe there’s something here?

The difference in the quality of the moment for me is that if I am seeing through the lens of the past there is generally some variety of upset there.  Whereas the more I let that lens go, the less I am seeing through ‘thorny’ covered lenses as it were, the more peace I experience.  It doesn’t have to be thorny of course.  It can also be a happy dream of the past.  But even a happy dream of the past is a distraction from the present.
